Michael Jackson Could Die From Mysterious Genetic Disease

The life of Michael Jackson is reportedly hanging by a thread due to a series of serious health problems, including internal bleeding caused by a genetic disease. According to the former King of Pop’s biographer, Ian Halperin, the star has been left half blind, barely able to speak and in need of a lung transplant by a debilitating genetic condition. Like financial and legal problems weren’t enough, Jackson has even more on his plate to deal with, like a lung transplant he might not be strong enough for. Halperin alleged that 50-year-old Jackson developed an alpha-1 anti-trypsin deficiency, in which sufferers lack a protein that protects the lungs. Treatment includes a lung transplant. Jackson is also suffering from “emphysema and chronic gastrointestinal bleeding,” which his doctors have had a lot of trouble stopping, Ian Halperin told British newspaper The Sun. All conditions are potentially life threatening but the bleeding “could kill him.” The 50-year-old musician, who can barely speak, and almost lost the vision in his left eye, has been battling the disease for years, said Halperin, who is a well respected and long-time investigative reporter. He has been undergoing treatment to make sure the illness would not progress. Asked about his brother’s condition, Jackson’s brother, Jermaine, reportedly told the paper that Michael wasn’t doing “so well” at the moment and that this wasn’t a good time at all. The singer was spotted earlier in July looking very frail while in a wheelchair and several weeks ago receiving help walking as he visited a doctor in Los Angeles, before shopping with his aides in several of his favorite stores. He wore a Zorro-style mask and long black scarf to hide his face almost entirely. The news of Michael’s illness comes just days after a woman called Billie Jean Jackson, who claims to be the singer’s wife and the mother of his youngest son Prince Michael II, announced she is suing him for $1 billion and joint custody of the six-year-old child, better known as Blanket. Michael has claimed Blanket is the product of artificial insemination using his sperm and a surrogate mother. Since his “Thriller” album was released twenty-six years ago, becoming the best-selling record of all time, Jackson has been plagued with a series of problems and has been keeping a low profile in recent years. Three years ago, he was cleared of child molestation accusations. Ever since he’s been facing serious financial problems, which forced him out of his private “Neverland” theme park. More than 2,000 of Jackson’s personal items are set to be auctioned next year, with some of the proceeds going to charity. Despite news of his enormous debt, the pop star is said to be renting a home in one of the most exclusive areas of Los Angeles for $100,000 a month.
